Treatment for hiding teeth discoloration in Houston smiles

We want children and adults to enjoy quality dental care through a practice with professionals they can trust. We build respectful relationships with our patients and want to help them in achieving beautiful smiles they can be proud of. This includes addressing aesthetic issues such as teeth discoloration.
Teeth can become discolored due to a variety of issues including:
- Drinks such as red wines and coffees
The dentists at Vivid Dental may suggest starting with teeth whitening treatment in an attempt to lift stains from the enamel. We offer two types of whitening products that far exceed the results achieved by over-the-counter whitening kits. These include our KöR Deep Bleaching system done in-office or our take-home whitening kits with custom-made trays. Both of these can reduce staining and discoloration.
However, if the staining is permanent and cannot be improved with this method, we may recommend the placement of veneers. Veneers are a great way of covering teeth discoloration that cannot be addressed with professional bleaching methods. Veneers are porcelain restorations that are made to act as facings over the front teeth. They are bonded in place and patients are able to cover many problem areas. These restorations are best near the front of the mouth and can cover not only tooth discoloration but problems such as gaps between teeth, misalignment, and fractures.
Veneers are done within a few weeks time. Impressions are made of the teeth after they have been prepared with the removal of a thin portion of enamel. The impressions are used by ceramists to fabricate the new restoration that is then sent to the dental office for bonding into place.
